MANDATE agrees deal on Roches Stores sell-off
18/08/2006 - 13:07:19The MANDATE trade union says it has reached agreement on staff pay and conditions with the new owners of Roches Stores.
The majority of the retail chain is being bought by the British firm Debenhams for €29m, with one outlet (in Wilton in Cork) being sold to Marks and Spencer.
MANDATE said today that it had now concluded an agreement on the buy-out that will see some 2,000 workers receive loyalty payments.
They will also get a €15m cash injection for their pension fund, while redundancy terms have also been agreed for the 91 employees due to lose their jobs as part of the takeover.
