Republic of Ireland soccer manager Steve Staunton will today unveil a €100,000 new sports facility in Dublin.

The new facility at Oliver Bond House in Dublin 8 includes an all-weather multi-purpose facility that can accommodate football, basketball and tennis.

“I am delighted to see the City Council is enhancing sporting facilities within housing complexes,” the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Cllr Vincent Jackson, said.

“This pitch in Oliver Bond House will provide users with a safe and secure environment in which to play, have some fun and develop skills which could see them playing for Ireland in the future.”

The facility also includes four mini-goals which allow two games to be played simultaneously across the width of the pitch.

The €100,000 facility was co-funded by Dublin City Council and the Department of Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
