Overall gains in mixed day for ISEQ
14/08/2006 - 18:46:19The ISEQ gained 45.05 points to finish on 7640.62 today, with the financials making up for mixed results elsewhere.
Allied Irish Banks was the biggest gainer in the sector, moving up 27c to €19.82. Bank of Ireland was not far behind, gaining 24c to €14.39. Irish Life & Permanent saw solid gains (up 15c to €19.05) as Anglo Irish Bank inched up 9c to €11.45.
Elsewhere, Icon was the main mover, rocketing up 55c to €52.60. FBD also enjoyed a buoyant day, climbing 40c to €39. DCC also did well, up 16c to €18.91.
It was not all good news on the Irish Exchange however, as Elan’s rollercoaster ride continued, this time falling 16c to €11.32. There were losses also for Tullow Oil (down 10c to €5.81), Ryanair (down 9c to €7.15) and CRH (down 6c to €25.31).
