SF accuses DUP of rowing back on policing agreement
10/08/2006 - 08:05:40Sinn Féin has accused the DUP of rowing back on a decision to accept the devolution of policing powers to a new Northern Assembly.
The republican party claims that, in 2004, the DUP accepted a two-year time-frame for the transfer of such powers from London.
However, Sinn Féin's Gerry Kelly is claiming that the DUP has now retreated from this.
He says the move shows the party is afraid of political responsibility and incapable of positive leadership.
