Limerick nursing home dispute escalates

An industrial dispute at a nursing home in Co Limerick has escalated.

Seven workers have been protesting about what they say is the unfair dismissal of a colleague.

They say bosses at the Maria Goretti Nursing Home in Kilmallock have now told them their jobs are being filled by five new workers.

SIPTU is picketing the home, and says it's disappointed that some nurses in the home have apparently undertaken work previously carried out by its members.
