Bonner faces fitness test for Dubs
08/08/2006 - 16:07:33Young Dublin forward Kevin Bonner will undergo a fitness test tonight in a bid to play some part in Saturday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final against Westmeath (Croke Park, throw-in 4pm).
The St Brigid's clubman injured a toe in training before the Dubs' Leinster final victory over Offaly, but returned to full training last week and could force his way into Paul Caffrey's starting XV.
Caffrey could opt to name an unchanged team after training tonight, but a likely switch would see wing forward Declan Lally lose out to Bonner, whose father Seamus played football for Donegal.
Bonner has been in and out of the Dublin side since scoring 1-1 on his senior debut against UCD in January.
