Hanafin to announce major increase in medical places
08/08/2006 - 08:25:46The Minister for Education Mary Hanafin is reportedly set to announce a major expansion in the number of medical places available in the Irish third-level system.
Reports this morning said the minister was planning to make 70 new undergraduate places available next month and a further 110 over the coming three years.
The move is part of a process designed to reduce the high level of CAO points required for a place on a medical course.
