The average cost of living for a third-level student in Ireland is €157-a-week, according to a survey published today by Ulster Bank.

The survey found that accommodation accounts for most of the cost, taking up 42% for students in the private rented sector.

Elsewhere, socialising accounts for 29% of the weekly spend, but this falls to 21% for those living away from home.
