Derry man freed after drugs find
A 23-year-old man has been released on police bail after prescription drugs were found during a search in Co Derry.
Drugs worth £6,800 (€10,000) were recovered during the search in a house in Castledawson.
In separate incidents, four people were charged with a range of offences after drugs operations across the North over the weekend netted drugs with an estimated street value of £75,000 (€111,083).
A 17-year-old man will appear at Coleraine Magistrates Court tomorrow facing charges of possession of cocaine and ecstasy, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and handling stolen goods.
A 22-year-old man will also appear in Coleraine Magistrates Court tomorrow on six counts of possession of ecstasy and cocaine, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and handling stolen goods.
He was also charged with possession of amphetamines and intent to supply the Class B drugs.
Both cases related to drugs finds with an estimated street value of £70,000 (€103,678) in Ballymena, Co Antrim and also a follow-up search in Co Fermanagh.
Two men, both aged 24, will also appear before magistrates in Belfast tomorrow charged with 13 offences following arrests in the south of the city and a follow-up search in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.
The charges relate to the discovery of drugs, including cocaine and ecstasy, in Upper Arthur Street yesterday and drugs and cash in the follow-up search.
A 27-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl were released pending police report.
