Four arrested following major drugs seizure
A teenage girl is among four people being detained by police in the North today in connection with a major drugs seizure.
Two men and the 17-year-old girl were arrested at Upper Arthur Street in Belfast city centre just before 2am this morning. They are being held on suspicion of drugs offences.
The police operation led to a follow-up raid in Newtownabbey, a large suburb north of Belfast, during which a woman was arrested.
Police described as substantial the amount of cash and Class A drugs seized in the swoop. All four are being questioned by detectives.
In a separate incident, two men arrested after a significant amount of drugs were recovered in Ballymena yesterday remain in police custody.
Police made the find after stopping two cars at around 5.45pm on the Lisnavenagh Road, in the Co Antrim town.
