Victory keeps Shels on top
04/08/2006 - 22:42:02Drogheda United 1 Shelbourne 3
Shelbourne moved six points ahead of title-rivals Drogheda with their eighth win in succession.
A penalty from Stuart Byrne gave Shels a deserved lead on 34 minutes after an inexplicable handball by Simon Webb.
A terrific goal by Ollie Cahill, after great work from Glen Crowe, brought the second goal on 56 minutes to end the game as a contest.
Skipper Owen Heary then rowed in with a spectacular 30-yard strike on 75 minutes before a stoppage time penalty from Stephen Bradley gave Drogheda some consolation.
