Bealin expected to remain with Wexford
Although he has made no public pronouncements, former Dublin star Paul Bealin is expected to remain in charge of the Wexford senior footballers for next season.
The 1995 All-Ireland winner gained a three-year term with the Models last November, but when asked if he would be at the helm for a second year in the aftermath of Wexford's SFC qualifier defeat to Fermanagh, Bealin was non-committal.
However, Wexford county board chairman Sean Quirke has insisted: "We agreed a three-year term with Paul last November and we would expect that he will be staying on for at least another year.
"He hasn't indicated otherwise to us yet anyway," he told the Wexford People.
Bealin was in attendance at Bellefield last weekend to take in some local senior championship games, quelling fears that he was about to step down.
A meeting of the Wexford County Board will take place in the coming weeks with one of the major issues up for discussion being the position of senior hurling manager.
The two-year reign of Seamus Murphy went out without a whimper when Wexford lost their recent All-Ireland SHC quarter-final to Clare by 12 points.
1996 All-Ireland-winning boss Liam Griffin has already ruled himself out of the running. The 59-year-old hotelier is unavailable due to business and domestic commitments.
