Taoiseach reiterates criticism of Mid East conflict
02/08/2006 - 13:06:49The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has reiterated his criticism of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Speaking in Galway this morning, Mr Ahern said nothing justified the widespread loss of life caused by the hostilities.
"The loss of human life for any cause is always a cause of concern," he said. "It's really just mind-boggling to see how we got into this.
"I know the issues behind it and the history behind it, it's been long, it's been traumatic, it's difficult, but you really do feel that the tactics around this have not, in my view, been well-thought out."
