Roscommon hospital’s surgery dept moved to Portiuncula
02/08/2006 - 18:43:14Roscommon County Hospital is to lose its surgery department.
This follows a review by the Health Service Executive (HSE), which plans to transfer two of the facility's surgeons to another hospital.
Roscommon County Hospital's inpatient department will now operate from Portiuncula Hospital, 30 miles away.
The HSE said this is to facilitate an outreach day surgery service at the facility.
