Unique cinema ticketing service launched

A new cinema ticketing system has been launched.

For the first time, Irish film goers only need to bring along their mobile phones to claim their tickets.

After customers log onto a website and purchase their tickets, they are sent a text message with a unique bar code, which gains them entry.

The system was used for the first time at the UCI Cinema in Tallaght last night for a special preview of Miami Vice.
