Young Navan footballer to be laid to rest today

The young footballer who died following an on-pitch collision in Co Meath last week is due to be laid to rest later today.

Twenty-two-year-old Paul Quinn, from Navan, died on Friday morning from injuries he sustained during a local game two days earlier.

He suffered serious head injuries when he collided with another player's knee as both were going for the same ball during a friendly match.

His funeral is due to take place at 11am today in St Oliver's Church, Navan. He will be cremated afterwards in Glasnevin.
