Gardaí locate mother of infant found dead in Limerick
28/07/2006 - 08:40:09Gardaí in Co Limerick have located the mother of a newborn baby girl found dead in the attic of a house in Rathkeale earlier this month.
The remains were discovered on July 5 in the Bloosom Hill area when the landlord of the property was conducting checks after a tenant moved out.
However, the discovery only emerged in yesterday's newspapers.
Gardaí have now confirmed that they have located the mother of the child, a woman in her 20s from Co Limerick who has two other children and who had been renting the house.
They say they do not believe the infant died a violent death.
The mother is understood to have gone through a difficult period in her life and apparently gave birth to the child alone in the house.
