IPU warns against buying medicines over the internet
22/07/2006 - 08:49:42Consumers are being warned against buying medicines over the internet.
The Irish Pharmaceutical Union has cautioned that many medicines sold over the internet are ineffective, that some that might actually have a detrimental effect and others may even be fatal.
IPU Spokesperson Pamela Logan said that "internet pharmacy" is an increasing problem and advised people that the money saved by getting medicines online without a prescription is not worth the risk.
