Electrocutionist thrills Godolphin

Godolphin’s team expressed their delight at Electrocutionist after his final workout before the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes.

The five-year-old, second behind Ouija Board in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes, was put through his paces on Wednesday morning ahead of his assignment at Ascot.

“He worked nicely and it’s a case of so far, so good,” trainer Saeed bin Suroor told the Racing Post.

“The horse was finishing so strongly when winning the Dubai World Cup and was still fighting on in the Prince of Wales’s last time so the return to a mile and a half shouldn’t be a problem. This was his main work and he will just have to have another good blow-out before the race now.”

VC Bet shortened the Dubai World Cup-winning entire to 11-4 from 3-1, while William Hill cut Electrocutionist to 5-2 second favourite (from 3-1).

“He feels fine and everything is in place,” added Frankie Dettori, who takes the ride on Saturday week.
