Campbell hit with four-week ban
Donegal defender Paddy Campbell has been handed a four-week suspension by the GAA's Central Disciplinary Committee, which rules him out of Sunday week's All-Ireland qualifier against Fermanagh.
The 30-year-old full-back will also miss the quarter-final clash with Munster champions Cork, should Brian McIver's men progress.
Campbell appeared before the CDC at Croke Park last night, answering a charge in relation to an incident between himself and Derry forward Enda Muldoon during last month's Ulster semi-final.
Video evidence of the Clones game, viewed by the CDC, showed Campbell striking Muldoon, who retaliated with a punch of his own which earned him a red card and a subsequent month-long ban.
Donegal officials are understandly annoyed at the delay in the suspension, given that the incident happened on June 18 and that Glenties man Campbell has since publicly apologised for his role in Muldoon's sending off.
