18/07/2006 - 08:28:21
Around 80 Irish citizens are due to arrive in Dublin within the next 24 hours after being evacuated from Lebanon yesterday on special buses arranged by the Irish Government.

The group was taken to Syria amid an ongoing Israeli military offensive against Lebanon that has left scores of civilians dead in the past week.

They were later flown from Damascus to Dubai and are due to be brought to Dublin on a specially chartered Aer Lingus tomorrow morning.
