Lomu returns to play with North Harbour

14/07/2006 - 09:41:11
Jonah Lomu will make his latest comeback in North Harbour’s club competition this weekend.

The former New Zealand winger broke his ankle in action for Cardiff earlier this year, having recovered from an earlier shoulder injury.

The 31-year-old, who underwent a kidney transplant two years ago, signed a deal with the North Harbour province in 2005.

But he makes his first steps towards his goal of an All Black recall for Massey against Marist North Harbour in a club match in Saturday.

Massey coach Graham Lowe said on the Stuff.co.nz website: “He’s fizzing, he’s on a mission. He’s had a few setbacks but he’s got an outstanding attitude and he’s highly motivated.””

Lomu is bidding for a place in the Harbour side to play Tasman Mokos in the opening Air New Zealand Cup game on July 30.
