New solar-powered bin to be tested in Waterford
14/07/2006 - 10:39:57A revolutionary litter bin is set to be tested in Waterford.
The solar-powered receptacle can store up to six times more waste than an average bin. Known as 'Big Belly', it compacts waste and therefore needs to be emptied less often.
The company which supplies the bin says it can operate for about a month on just five hours of daylight.
