Saints get Greek go-ahead
13/07/2006 - 13:49:56Southampton’s pre-season friendly against Greek club Panathinaikos has been given the go-ahead to be played on Saturday, July 29.
The fixture had been in doubt after FIFA suspended all Greek teams from taking part in international matches after the Hellenic Football Association persistently broke rules on external interference in footballing matters.
However, the suspension has now been lifted so Panathinaikos are free to travel to St Mary’s.
