Percentage of firms with unfilled jobs up slightly in June
13/07/2006 - 07:39:33FÁS and the ESRI have reported a slight increase in the percentage of companies with unfilled vacancies last month.
In their last employment and vacancies survey, the two organisations say 17% of firms had jobs on offer in June, compared to 16% in May.
The increase is being driven by the retail sector, with the level of vacancies in all other sectors declining or remaining static during the month.
The survey also found that private-sector companies, particularly those in construction and the services sector, were expecting their employment levels to increase in the coming months.
