Man expected in court following Dublin Airport bomb scare

05/07/2006 - 07:57:17
A man is expected in court this morning in connection with yesterday's bomb scare at Dublin Airport.

More than 3,000 passengers and staff were evacuated from the terminal building after a man entered the main arrivals hall claiming he was carrying a bomb in his bag.

All traffic was also prevented from entering the airport for some time.

The incident caused major disruption for around 9,000 passengers, with around 50 flights delayed for several hours.

Ryanair also decided to cancel some of its flights to and from Britain and on the Dublin-Cork route.

The alert later turned out to be a hoax after the man's bag was found to contain nothing but clothing and paper.
