CRH expect one-third increase in pre-tax profits

Irish construction company CRH expect pre-tax profits for the six months to 30 June to increase by approximately one-third compared with the reported 2005 outcome of €383m, according to a trading statement issued this morning.

The statement has also predicted further profit growth in the “more significant” second half of the year.

This is due to the particularly strong performance of CRH’s American businesses, as well as European operations, according to the firm.
