Israeli aircraft targets militants' car in Gaza City
29/06/2006 - 13:41:06Israeli aircraft targeted a car carrying Palestinian militants in Gaza City today, the Israeli military said, but witnesses said the missile missed the vehicle.
Mahdi Dahdouh, an Islamic Jihad activist, escaped from the car before the missile hit, the witnesses said.
Another unidentified person was wounded, hospital officials said.
The military would not identify its target.
The car was targeted on a small dirt road. The missile missed the car, which crashed into a pole.
The strike took place on the third day day of Israel’s largest military operation against militants in the Gaza Strip since it evacuated the territory over the summer.
