Flooding kills 30 people in China
29/06/2006 - 08:45:41Flooding in a mountainous area of southern China has killed at least 30 people and destryed more than 2,400 homes.
Another 20 people are missing following the flooding triggered by torrential rains in Wangmo County in Guizhou province, north-west of Hong Kong, the Xinhua News Agency said.
The floods occurred two weeks ago, Xinhua said. There was no explanation for the delay in reporting them, but Guizhou is among China’s poorest areas, with isolated mountain villages.
