Two more killed on Irish roads
Two people have been killed on the country's roads.
A man believed to be in his twenties died in a crash in Westmeath, and a man in his seventies was killed in a three-car collision in Co. Galway.
The first incident happened at around 8.40am at Strattonstown near Ballina.
The young man was killed when the car he was driving crashed through a ditch and ended up in a field. He was on his own in the car at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, a man in his 70s died following a three vehicle collision on the main Gort to Ennis road at 3pm.
Two cars and a van were involved in the crash at the junction of the Tulla road.
The man, who was the driver of one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman, who is also believed to be in her 70s was taken to University College Hospital in Galway but is not thought to be seriously injured.
