Six-month-old motorway already in need of repair
24/06/2006 - 08:44:15Parts of a new €420m motorway that was opened by the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern only six months ago is set to be closed off because it is already in need of repair.
Four kilometres of the M4 between Kilcock and Kinnegad needs to be replaced, which will mean delays for motorists.
Bertie Ahern described the route as a "high quality road" when he opened it last December.
According to the NRA, the problem is due to a "bad batch" of road surface material laid during poor weather conditions.
