ISEQ declines in morning trading

The ISEQ index declined again in early trading today, sliding 60.37 points to 7302.74.

The financials fared poorly, but all avoided significant drops. The worst performer was Bank of Ireland, slipping 10c to €13.90. Anglo Irish bank fared little better however, down 9c to €11.05. There was little movement for Allied Irish Banks, stumbling 3c down to €18.25. Irish Life & Permanent bucked the trend, gaining 5c to 18.05.

The biggest loss of the day was endured by DRH, the construction firm plummeting 41c to €24.80. Irish Continental Group was also heavily on the slide, dropping a full 30c to €10.65.

In a morning of general decline, Ryanair dropped 13c to €7.07, with Icon suffering a 15c decline to €40.60.

Apart from Irish Life & Permanent, the only gains on the Irish Stock Exchange were in the food sector. Kerry Group gained a modest 4c to €16.44, whilst Glanbia inched up 1c to €2.33.
