McDowell two shots off lead after day one of US Open
16/06/2006 - 08:56:09Graeme McDowell is faring best of the Irish competitions heading into the second day of the US Open in New York state today.
McDowell shot a 71 at the Winged Foot course yesterday to finish up one over par, two shots behind leader Colin Montgomerie.
Elsewhere, Padraig Harrington ended his opening round on three over, with Paul McGinley one stroke back on four over.
