Carberry makes nightmare return
16/06/2006 - 18:54:49Paul Carberry has been taken to hospital after suffering a fall on his first ride back after a near two-month injury break.
Carberry had been sidelined since aggravating an ankle problem when partnering Sweet Wake at the Punchestown Festival at the end of April.
He made his return aboard Athlumney Lad in the opening Ladbrokes Country & Western BBQ Evening Hurdle at Navan only to part company with his mount at the third-last obstacle.
Carberry was examined by Dr John Kennedy, who said: “Paul was looking a little groggy. He has been sent to hospital in Navan for X-rays.”
