Stormont committee to hold further talks on power-sharing
The Stormont committee established to pave the way for a return to power-sharing in the North is due to meet later today for further discussions on the issue.
The committee was established to identify the obstacles preventing the restoration of devolved government.
At its last meeting, representatives of the various parties exchanged position papers and these are due to be discussed at today's talks.
Sinn Féin and the SDLP say they will be watching closely to see if the DUP genuinely engages in meaningful dialogue.
The SDLP is suspicious of DUP intentions after the unionist party failed to muster three members to attend meetings on successive days earlier this week.
Sinn Féin also has its doubts about whether the DUP is committed to the task of resolving outstanding issues and restoring the power-sharing institutions.
