Man arrested after suspicious death in Louth

Gardaí in Dundalk were investigating today after a man’s body was discovered at a house in the town.

Officers were called to the address in Castletown Road at 12.30am.

The dead man has not yet been identified but was believed to have been in his early 50s. The scene remained sealed off.

The State Pathologist was called in as well as a Crime Scene Examination Team from the Garda Technical Bureau.

“As part of the investigation, a 36-year-old man has been arrested and is now detained at Dundalk garda station under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act,” a garda spokesman said.
