Some films can’t decide what they want to be … err, haven’t we been here before?
Such a pity such a terrific cast has been given two films instead of the intended one.
Lopez plays a woman who escapes with her young daughter from a violent boyfriend. She fetches up at the ranch of former father-in-law Redford who still considers her the cause of the death of her husband – his son.
From then on it can’t decide: perhaps it’s a chick film, or maybe a guy film. Is it a story of redemption, maybe one of self-discovery? Nothing about the storyline ever seems to meet in the middle.
