Three killed in Iraq car bomb
15/06/2006 - 18:35:55A parked car bomb struck a neighbourhood in south-western Baghdad this evening, killing at least three civilians and wounding 14, police said, as sporadic violence persisted in the capital despite a security crackdown.
The car was parked near several stores, including a bakery and a grocery shop, when it exploded about 8.15pm in Sadiya, a mixed Shiite-Sunni Arab neighbourhood, police Lt. Mutaz Salahuldin said. He said three people were killed and 14 wounded.
It was the second such bomb to strike the capital of six million people since Iraqi forces launched a massive security operation on Wednesday.
