Doolin denies Zayed rumour
15/06/2006 - 13:12:29Drogheda United manager Paul Doolin has denied that he is to make a big money offer for Bray Wanderers hot shot Eamon Zayed.
Former Republic of Ireland Under 21 striker Zayed is one of the most coveted players in the eircom League and Doolin did make an offer for the 22-year-old in January that was rejected by Bray.
However, despite reports to the contrary, Doolin has insisted that he will not be making another offer for the striker when the transfer window reopens next month.
Doolin said: “I know there is a lot of talk because of what happened during the winter but the simple fact is we have not been in contact with Bray.”
Doolin, meanwhile, is in the process of recruiting a new assistant manager after Tony Cousins left the club to take over as manager of Galway United.
