Two soft drinks withdrawn after benzene levels research
12/06/2006 - 14:45:17Two soft drinks are being taken off the shelves after they were found to contain high levels of a cancer-causing chemical.
The Diet version of Club Lemon and Rose's Diabetic Squash Concentrate are being pulled after research found that they contain five times the acceptable amount of benzene.
The Food Safety Authority is assuring consumers that the drinks are unlikely to have caused any harm as it would take continual high levels of exposure to benzene to damage a person's health.
