Former Arsenal and England captain Tony Adams is in talks to join Harry Redknapp’s coaching staff at Portsmouth.

Adams, who has been coaching in Holland and also had a spell as Wycombe manager, could become assistant manager at Fratton Park.

According to Sky Sports News, Redknapp said: “I can confirm I met with Tony Adams on Friday.

“I like Tony a great deal and he has got a lot to offer. We will wait to see how things develop.”

Adams, 39, would replace Kevin Bond who recently left Portsmouth to become Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder’s number two.
