Woman dies in Mayo crash
11/06/2006 - 16:09:42One woman is dead and a number of people are injured following a car crash in Co Mayo.
The collision happened just before 12 noon on the Newport to Castlebar road.
Gardaí are still at the scene.
The two-car head-on collision happened at around a 11.45am today.
Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene near Castlebar, but it is understood that one women was already dead.
A number of other people were brought to Mayo General Hospital. It is not known whether any of them are seriously injured.
