Labour warns inflation will lead to rising unemployment
09/06/2006 - 12:50:35Labour Party TD Ruairí Quinn has accused the Government of putting hundreds of jobs at risk by failing to control inflation.
Mr Quinn was responding to figures published by the Central Statistics Office today showing that the number of people signing on increased by 600 in May.
He said small businesses were finding its increasingly difficult to compete due to the Government's failure to control inflation and this was beginning to have an effect on the jobs front.
"This trend, if it continues, could do untold damage to the vibrancy of the Irish economy," he said.
