Exam post mortems useless, Hanafin advises
07/06/2006 - 16:58:45The Minister for Education has advised Leaving and Junior Certificate students not to engage in lengthy post mortems following the first day of written examinations.
More than 100,000 began the state examinations today, in 4,500 testing centres across the country.
For the first time, a small number of candidates are being examined in Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian and Slovakian.
“Post mortems serve to do nothing - you close the door on it and you move on,” Minister Mary Hanafin stated.
“You think of tomorrow’s paper and you leave the rest to the correctors, but don't go running around worrying about it with other students, parents and teachers.
“Just leave it in the hands of the examiners, who are going to look after your best interests.”
