ISEQ continues to slide

The ISEQ index of shares continued to slide today, shedding 13.86 points to 7289.29.

However, there were some signs of recovery from yesterday's massive losses. AIB bounced back with a 30c gain to €18.20.

Bank of Ireland was up 7c to €13,70, but Anglo Irish was still in the red with a 10c loss to €11.38.

Irish Life & Permanent was down 15c to €18.25.

CRH was hit hard again today as its shares slid 50c to €24. Insurance group FBD was down 65c to €35.15.

On a brighter note, Greencore shares were up 20c to €4 as it announced a jump of 14.3% in after-tax profits tax to €30.5m (pre-exceptionals) and said the company's future is now in convenience foods after this year's withdrawal from sugar processing.
