Pennant going nowhere, says Brady

06/06/2006 - 15:23:01
Birmingham managing director Karren Brady has refused claims that midfielder Jermaine Pennant is on the verge of a £3.5m (€5m) move to Liverpool.

Brady insists the Blues have had no contact from Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry and would reject any approach for Pennant as they bid to fight they way back into the Premiership.

Pennant has previously intimated his desire to stay at St Andrews despite his club’s relegation last season.

“We want to get out of this division as soon as possible," Brady told Birmingham’s official website, www.bcfc.com.

“Therefore we will be buying players and not selling them as our aim is to go into the Championship with the best squad in the league.”
