Food plant plans to create 32 jobs
Food processing firm Galfees NI has set up a plant in Strabane with plans to create 32 jobs by 2009, it was announced today.
It will manufacture a range of packaged sandwiches, prepared deli products, prepared vegetables, ready-made cooked meals and luxury desserts for retail and food service sector on both sides of the border.
Part of the Galfees Group which operates in the north west of Ireland, the new enterprise has been offered almost £94,000 (€136,394) by Invest Northern Ireland towards the total £775,000 (€1.12m) investment.
James Gallagher, director of Galfees NI said: “Our main targets will be retail customers with fresh deli counters and the food service market all over the north of Ireland.
“The Strabane site will enable us to service these markets more efficiently and cost effectively, whilst enabling us to develop new products and explore new market opportunities.”
