Robbie: I don't need a girlfriend

Pop star Robbie Williams refuses to worry about being single, insisting he isn't lonely because he gets everything he needs from sleeping pills and his computer.

The singer regularly types his name into internet search engine Google to see what people are saying about him.

"Look, we could all psychoanalyse Robbie Williams," he said. " I'm not desperate to be in a relationship. It's another piece of the jigsaw, that's all.

"I'm alone. I'm not lonely. I'm OK.

"I've got the computer and the sleeping pills. Things are fine.

"I know people will say, 'Check out the ego on Robbie Williams going online to see what people say about him.'

"But it's never anything nice!"
