Declan O’Brien was villain and hero as Drogheda opened up a three point lead at the top of the Premier Division table heading into the World Cup break.
Captain O’Brien had a 29th penalty saved by Stephen O’Brien but made amends within two minutes later when he scored what proved the only goal of the night.
Bohs failed to defend Keith Fahey’s 40 yard free kick and O’Brien stole in to shoot home from close range.
Bohs finished with ten men when keeper O’Brien was sent off ten minutes from time.
