Cork City find scoring form
Dublin City 0 Cork City 4
Having failed to score away from home all season, Cork found their touch to trounce Vikings who finished with nine men for the second time this season.
Controversy surrounded Cork’s opener on eight minutes when referee Declan Hanney deemed John O’Flynn had forced the ball over the line before it was cleared following a corner.
But there was no disputing Cork’s second goal. George O’Callaghan burst through from midfield to set up Neale Fenn who fired past Gary Rogers.
Vikings had Ben Whelehan sent off in the first minute of the second half before keeper Gary Rogers joined him for a foul on Fenn that brought O’Callaghan Cork’s third goal from a penalty on 75 minutes.
Substitute Ray Lally added the fourth goal as Cork moved over Derry into second place in the table.
